(This is an email sent to me from the NCUA after I sent a letter to them about what had happened to me with Grow Financial Federal Credit Union. The NCUA is who credit union members rely on when there is any problem(s) with a credit union. What they basically told me was that I was on my own- absolutely NO help at all.)

Dear Mr. Johnson:
NCUA is a federal agency and regulates federally-chartered credit unions. We encourage credit union members to resolve complaints directly with their credit unions. We do not assist non-members with complaints regarding credit unions. Please be advised that a credit union can not release any information regarding an account to a person who is not listed on that account.
We have a complaint process in which we forward a copy of a member complaint to the credit union’s supervisory committee and ask them to provide a written response directly to the member, with either an explanation of their actions or a report of corrective actions taken, if appropriate. We ask them to respond to their member within 30 days of the date of our inquiry letter, and to provide a copy of the response to our office.
In order to process your complaint, we need more information from you. You may submit this information by e-mail, fax or regular mail. Our address is:

Please provide the following information:
- name of credit union
- a detailed explanation of the circumstances. Any supporting documents will help expedite the process.
- your complete mailing address, as we will send you hard copy mail.
- a telephone number where you can be reached before 2:00 PM.
- provide the name/names on the accounts in question – as they appear on the accounts.
