Email Sent To National Credit Union Association About Tangible Proof Of Fraud Against Grow Financial Federal Credit Union

This is an email sent to NCUA in regards to the proof I have against Grow Financial Federal Credit Union. Even with this information they decided to take Grow’s word for it. They closed the case in Grow Financial Federal Credit Union’s favor.

Jeri Walker, Yes, I do have two different items of what I am labeling “proof”. In one, the customer service rep who assisted my withdraw was oblivious to the fact that they had hit me with a fee when I asked her about it. Grow is claiming they gave me the “option” (a check or cash) and said “I was aware” of the fee if I chose cash. That is bunk. If that was the case, this customer service rep would/could have been the only one to have told me of a fee, (since she was the only one I talked with) and she herself was unaware there was even a fee (after the fact) and literally had to check on it and get back to me when I originally questioned the fee. It was only after she confirmed what the fee was for, that I was offered a Fee Rate sheet with an explanation of the charges and fees.I have proof of this in an email exchange.
The second item is from a different teller who informs a potentially new member (my sister) that there are “no fees” for cash withdraws. This is dated and in writing.
What I want to know is this- what authority does the NCUA have in a situation like this- what can you do if anything? If Grow dismisses these documents I have after they are presented to them, what is the NCUA prepared to do about it and what options do you have as your “best course of action“? If you aren’t legally able (or willing) to do anything, (“the best course of action“) this is all a further waste of time and should rather be introduced into a court of law instead.
Respectfully,
Robert Johnson

Mr. Johnson,

I apologize for your difficulty in getting a hold of me.  In a letter that you sent to Mr. Marquis here at NCUA, you mention that you have tangible proof that the fees for the large cash withdrawal were hidden from you.  Specially, you mention that you have documents from two Grow FCU employees.  I would like for you to forward these documents to me.  You may email it to me at ombudsman@ncua.gov, or mail it to:

NCUA

Once we take a look at the documentation, we will determine the best course of action in your case.

  1. Robert, read your website

I would say look around for other banks or credit unions to deal with

You should be able to trust your Credit Union or Bank to handle your money accounts without all this worry, or be able to work things out if there is a mistake

You deserve to get your money back in full with the problem you had, since you were a loyal customer
got to get the right person to give it back to you

Consumers and Homeowners are not being treated right today

It is not right to take advantage of Innocent, Unknowledgeable Consumers (with hidden fees, or nonunderstandable fine print terms)

“Who is going to Protect their Rights of these Consumers”
We are still trying to find this out.

I would say people must read their bank statements and check their accounts like you, very carefully, we do

Grow tried to charge us late fees on things, I got it dismissed, because it was inaccurate, and
they held extra money in an escrow account, we got that back also, I wrote a letter
    So do not give up

    • Please feel free to add the letter here, or to give more details. It might help somebody else who is getting shafted by Grow Financial Federal Credit Union.

      Thanks,
      RJ
